Editing of Disk Space (Enlargement / Reduction)

This section describes how to increase or decrease a disk's size that is used by the virtual machine.

Caution: Use caution when you reduce the amount of disk space to a value less than the actual usage, as there is a possibility of corruption on the file system.

Take note that the virtual machine is restarted when disk space size is edited.

 

STEP 1: Select the virtual machine On the left hand menu, click on “Virtual Machines” then select the virtual machine that you want to add disk space to from the list.

STEP 2: Access to the disk menu

On the top menu above click on “Storage” then “Disks”.

STEP 3: Click on the Disk Parameters icon

STEP 4: Editing disk capacity

Enter the new disk size property, then click Save Disk.

STEP 5: Confirming reboot

When you edit the disk, the virtual machine is restarted. Please click “OK” if there is no problem.

STEP 6: Performs a restart

As shown in the screen below, during the restart, a "Please wait" is displayed under Actions.

Once the reboot is complete, the following screen is displayed. You can confirm that the disk space has changed.
