IMPORTANT ADVISORY: Disk IO errors caused by SAN node trouble

Dear Customers,

This is notification of disk failure for a limited number of customers' virtual servers.  Network failure for the SAN nodes causing disk IO errors.  This causes the disk to be mounted as read-only.  

  • Affected Time and Date
    US Pacific Standard Time: Wednesday Dec. 30th, 2014 2:02 PM until Jan 6, 2015.
    Japan Standard Time: Wednesday Dec. 31st, 2014 7:02 AM until Jan. 6, 2015.
  • Symptoms
    SAN node network connection fails causing disk IO errors in the virtual server.
  • Affected Location
    Customer servers located in USA cloud (us001).
  • Services Affected
     This causes the disk to be mounted in read-only mode.  The disk stays this way until the server is restarted.

The network to the SAN has been stabilized.  We are scheduling a maintenance to fix the root cause of this trouble.  If after rebooting the server the problem persists you may need to check the server's disk with fsck.  Please follow these instructions to do so: Check Disk with fsck in Recovery Mode
